
The garden of Europe, one of the most beautiful mansion complex and the largest artistically shaped scenery in the world. In the area of 200km2 between Břeclav, Lednice and Valtice, powerful noble line of Lichtenstein built a beautiful world where the work of human hands is perfectly complementary to the nature. The result is an impressive mosaic of parks, gardens, ponds, rivers and forests, completed by a range of sculptures, hunting-seats, chapels and colonnades. Lednicko-Valtický area was registered as UNESCO protected monument in 1996.
National cultural monument, since 1997 also registered as UNESCO protected monument. After complicated development from gothic fort through renaissance, baroque and classicistic forms, the last reconstruction in historic-like Gothic Revival from years 1846-1858 is preserved. Around the Chateau there is a baroque park freely passing to flood-plain forest with romantic buildings and water sheets with piled artificial islands. A possibility of a sightseeing boat trip along the river Dyje from mansion water-station to Minaret and Janohrad.
